Geoff Bacino Kicks Off 3rd Annual Lending Solutions, Inc. Users Meeting

Elgin, IL, February 4, 2002 - Lending Solutions, Inc. held its 3rd Annual Users Meeting on January 16-18 at the Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Palm Springs, California. Credit unions from across the U.S. and Canada participated in the 2-day meeting, which focused on the theme of Productive Partnerships.

To kick off the meeting, Geoff Bacino addressed the group in his first post-NCUA speaking engagement. "We were happy to have Bacino join us and share his thoughts on the state of credit unions and how the NCUA board participates not just politically, but to the advancement of the movement as a whole," states Mark Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Lending Solutions, Inc.

Having just rotated off the NCUA Board, Bacino gave meeting attendees his thoughts on the work done during the time he served as well as insight into future recommendations the board may be reviewing. "As an interim member of the board, I was very conscious of the time constraints that may exist and the amount of work that we hoped to complete," commented Bacino. "I believe that during my term, the board accomplished a great deal and that the board is in good hands today with Chairman Dennis Dollar." With regards to the future, Bacino indicated that credit unions might see a letter from the Board encouraging credit unions to review their existing lines of credit. "Credit unions approved lines of credit over the last 2-3 years that now, with the downturn in the economy, need to be assessed as to the current quality of the loan," comments Bacino.

Bacino's opening remarks were followed by a keynote address from guest speaker and sleight-of-hand magician Bodine Balasco who spoke on the value of retaining member loyalty through productive partnerships. This year's meeting was a combination of general session topics, including a lending presentation featuring Fair, Isaac, and a number of breakout sessions on topics ranging from lending technology, target marketing, mortgage processing and member contact services. A highlight of the meeting was a panel discussion on how to achieve quicker closings, fulfill loans and generate revenue. The panel was moderated by Rex Johnson, President of Lending Solutions, Inc. and featured participants from Baxter Credit Union, Power Federal Credit Union and Royal Credit Union.

Mark Johnson, CEO, was thrilled with the results of this latest Users Meeting.
